We might be closed today for Labor Day, but that doesn’t mean we’re not excited for tomorrow’s kick-off of the fall sessions of our Job Club. Our area hasn’t been immune to the economic difficulties facing the country. Every day at the library, we assist people with their job searches – whether it’s helping format a resume or guiding someone through an online application.
When the opportunity to partner with the Rotary Club of Staunton-Augusta County arose, we jumped at the chance to provide extra services to those of you who are looking for a job. Since last year, we’ve been hosting twice-monthly sessions that are led by local employment experts — Sherry Talbott, the Director of Career Services at Bridgewater College and even some of the people who do local hiring themselves! If you come to a meeting, you might pick up tips on everything from interviewing and networking to following up with employers about prospective jobs. Several of our members have been excited to report back that all the advice they’ve gotten has paid off and helped them find new jobs.
What do you have to lose? Come join us! For more information, visit our Job Club section.
