Librarians around the country, including some at Augusta County Library, are contributing to a brand new monthly reading list to highlight their favorite newly published titles.LibraryReads just went live in September with a list of ten new adult titles that librarians voted as their favorites for the month. The month’s number one pick went to Rainbow Rowell’s Fangirl, which we don’t have quite yet in the Valley Libraries Connection (though it’s on order — we promise!), and a wide variety of titles round out the list. Visit LibraryReads to see the full September list for some great ideas on what to pick up from the library next. You can check our catalog to see if copies are available at your local library or to place a hold on one. Don’t see a title in the system yet? Don’t worry — we have all of them on order. Check back often!
Sarah, our Adult Services Librarian, submitted her vote for Hannah Kent’s Burial Rites, which came in at number six on the list. She describes it as, “an atmospheric, stark tale of murder in Iceland in the early 1800s”. If you’re a fan of moody historical fiction, then be on the look out for this one.
