After spending her early years and all her summers until high school at her grandmother’s remote mountain farm near West Augusta, Jeanette developed a love of the mountains and the Shenandoah Valley. She dreamed of returning and after many years in the home building and real estate business in Chesterfield County, she and husband Harry relocated to a farm on Walker’s Creek, south of Middlebrook, where they spent 25 years. Being avid readers, they made many trips to the Middlebrook Library. Jeanette’s love of reading, coupled with her desire to give back to the community, led her to volunteer at MLS. Even though they have now moved to Staunton, Jeanette’s heart is in Middlebrook and she prefers to drive out to the village to volunteer. Jeanette says, “I feel blessed to work with the wonderful staff and volunteers at MLS.” The staff and volunteers feel the same about Jeanette.
