Augusta County Library provides AncestryLibrary.com, HeritageQuestOnline, LearningExpressLibrary.com, NoveList, and RosettaStone. All other databases are provided by the Library of Virginia.

The Library of Virginia provides access to FindItVirginia to all Virginia public libraries. You may search magazines, newspapers, classic books, reference books, radio and television program transcripts on-line. To access these databases, click on the FindItVirginia link, use the drop down menu to select Augusta County Library, and enter your Augusta County Library card barcode number as your user i.d.

Augusta County Library provides access to two genealogical services: Ancestry.Com Library edition and Heritage Quest On-Line. We also provide access to LearningExpressLibrary.com, a test preparation service; to RosettaStone.com, a language learning service; and to NoveList, a reader advisory service.

HeritageQuestOnline - Provides access to these resources: U.S. Federal Census collection, 1790-1930--original images, name indexes, and map guides; the UMI Genealogy & Local History book collection: 1700s to 1900s; Periodical Source Index (PERSI), a comprehensive subject index covering over 1.7 million articles in over 6,300 genealogy and local history periodicals from 1800 onwards; Revolutionary War Era Pension Records and Bounty-Land Warrant Application Files; Freedman's Bank Records, a vital source for African-American research. netLibrary  NetLibrary eBooks are digital full-text versions of books including reference works, scholarly monographs, literature, and fiction. Downloadable audio books are now available. You must be at an Augusta County library location, using our Internet service, to create an account. Once the account is created, patrons can access e-books from anywhere. (Be sure to write down your password.)
