How to Access Your Account and Renew Books Via the Internet

1.         Left click on the link to the Valley Libraries Catalog.

2.         Left click on the My Account link  located on the bottom half of your screen.                                                 

3.         Type your patron i.d. number (the barcode on the back of your library card) into the “Patron /Alternate I.D. Number” box.

4.         Type your pin number in the “PIN” box and left click the “Submit request” button.  [When you register for your library card, you are asked if you want a PIN (Personal Identification Number). If you don’t have one or can't remember it, come to the library to get one.]

5.         Scroll down until you see “Loan” list.  Put a check in each box in front of the title you want to renew and then scroll down to the bottom of the page.  See the Renew Checked Items button .  Left click this button.  If you get a message stating you cannot renew your items, you have either renewed them once before or they cannot be renewed (reserved titles, video formats).

How to Place Holds (Reserves) via the Internet (Limit of 20 holds per patron, 3 holds per subject area)

Please wait for our staff to call you before coming in to pick up the reserved item.  
(Sometimes items are not on the shelf even though they show as being "in.")

1.         “Search”  by the title or author or subject.

2.         Left click on the title  (in blue and underlined, you’ll see a hand when you pass the pointer over it).

3.         Left click on title again if you do not see the “default label record display” window.

4.         Once you see the blue record display window, click on the HOLD REQUEST button in the upper right hand corner of the row of buttons.

 

5.         Now enter your BARCODE and PIN [When you register for your library card, you are asked if you want a PIN (Personal Identification Number). If you don’t have one or can't remember it, come to the library to get one.]

6.         Select the PICK-UP BRANCH.

7.         Left click SUBMIT REQUEST. 

How to change or cancel a Hold (Limit of 20 holds per patron, 3 per subject area)

1.       Left click on the "MY ACCOUNT" button on the ACL home page or left click on the "PATRON REVIEW" button on any of the search pages.

2.       Enter your library account number and PIN [When you register for your library card, you are asked if you want a PIN (Personal Identification Number).  If you don’t have one or can't remember it, come to the library to get one.]

3.       When you see your account, scroll down to where your holds are listed and left click in the box to the left of the title of the hold.

4.       Left click the button "CANCEL CHECKED ITEMS.."
