We’re sorry, but this event and exhibit have been canceled.

Forbidden Books Poster

You’re invited to participate in our 2nd Annual Banned Books Art Show to be held in September at the Augusta County Library in Fishersville.

Theme: Banned Books

Do you support freedom of expression? What is your take on censorship. Is there a banned book that has left its mark on you? We want you to use this to inspire your art piece.

Dig around on the Banned Books Week website for more information on celebrating our freedom to read.

Rules and Guidelines

  • Artist must be a resident of Augusta County, Staunton, or Waynesboro.
  • One original, 3-D or 2-D piece per artists.
  • 2-D art must be ready to hang.
  • We do have limited space, so we’ll try to accommodate oversize pieces in the best way possible.
  • We reserve the right to make final decisions regarding pieces.

A people’s choice winner will be crowned by public vote at the end of September.

Entry Deadlines

Contact Sarah Skrobis at 540-885-3961 or submit your name online if interested in participating.

Entry form and read-to-hang artwork must be turned in to the Fishersville Main Library by 5:00 pm on Monday, August 24.
