We offer a variety of computer classes free of charge. Sessions are held at the Fishersville Main Library, unless otherwise noted.


Ongoing Events

Computer Basics:

Second Thursdays of the month at 6:00 pm. Registration required.

Get introduced to computers, including basic operation, using the mouse & keyboard, and navigating a desktop. No prior computer experience necessary.

Introduction to Email

Wednesdays: June 3 and August 5 at 3:00 pm. Registration Required.

Create a new email account and learn how to start sending & receiving messages. We will provide laptops for you to work on.

Prerequisite: Computer Basics class or equal proficiency with a mouse & keyboard.

Intermediate Email:

Wednesdays: July 1 at 3:00 pm. Registration Required.

You’ve signed up for an email account — now what? Learn how to sort your messages into folders, attach files, and organize your contacts. We will provide laptops for you to work on. 

Prerequisite: Computer Basics class or equal proficiency with a mouse & keyboard. Must already have an email account (this is a Gmail-focused class).

Intro to Microsoft Word:

Friday, August 7 at 9:30 am. Registration Suggested.

Attendees will learn basic Microsoft Word skills and functions that will help them create documents such as resumes and letters. Prerequisite: Computer Basics class or equal proficiency with keyboard/mouse.

Picasa Digital Photos:picasa

Friday, July 10 at 9:30 am. Registration Suggested.

You took those great pictures — now what? Take advantage of Google’s free digital photo software, Picasa. Learn how to upload, organize, share, and edit your photos. Prerequisite: Basic Skills and familiarity with the Internet.
