Getting an ILL
If you’re looking for an item and none of the area libraries owns it, you may submit an InterLibrary Loan (ILL) request. With ILL, our staff members search outside our local library system for other libraries that would be willing to mail the book, magazine article, or microfilm/fiche that you’re looking for. Unfortunately, we are not able to place ILL requests for videos, audio materials, or CD-ROMs at this time.
ILLs cost $5.00 to cover the price of return postage to the lending library or institution. Your money will be refunded if the request is unsuccessful. ILL materials must be returned to the Augusta County Library location at which you originally picked it up. Please do not return them to the Staunton or Waynesboro libraries.
How long do ILLs get checked out for?
Each lending organization sets their own rules for how long items may be kept and whether or not renewals are allowed. At the time of pick-up, you will be informed of the loan conditions.
