Holds Notification

Automated Notifications:
We now have an automated notification service for phone calls in addition to our automated email notification service. Patrons will no longer be receiving overdue or holds notices by mail, but rather by email or phone call only.

We have a fairly new notification service for patrons who receive phone calls. Click here for more information about our arrived hold notification services.

* For email notifications, please add circulation@valleylibraries.org to your email provider's allowable list.

* Also, arrived holds will only be held for seven days. On the eighth day, arrived holds will be cancelled and sent to the next patron.


Phone Call Holds:
Patrons will receive an automated phone call message letting patrons know that a hold has come in. If you have any questions, please call your home library for more information. Your home library is the library where you go to pick up holds.

Email Holds:
Patrons who give us their email address will continue to receive email notifications when their hold has arrived. If you have any questions, please call Rebecca Huffer or Douglas Keith @ 540-949-6354 for more information.

Email Users:
Some email users may have to add the email notification address as a recognized or safe address to receive email holds. The email address is:
