Laptop Checkout & Skype Policy
The Augusta County Library provides computers for public use as a service to its patrons.
Public-use laptops are available during regular hours of operation at the Fishersville library only and may be checked out at the Reference Desk. Patrons may reserve a computer for a daily limit of two hours. Patrons must present their library card and a photo ID which will be held at the Reference Desk until the laptop is returned and checked in. Laptops must remain within the library.
Patrons are welcome to use their own USB flash drives for downloads. Patrons are not allowed to save files or download files onto the hard drives. Only library-owned software may be used on library laptops.
Earbuds and printing are available for a fee.
Laptop users must be 18 or over and have a Library Card in good standing (no fees over $6.00). Users owing the library due to lost, missing or damaged materials may not use the laptop computers until those charges have been settled in full.
A patron’s use of a laptop computer may be restricted at the discretion of Library staff. Unauthorized use of the library’s laptop computers, including tampering with the system’s operation, integrity or security, may result in the loss of privileges and/or barring from the library.
A SKYPE laptop is available by appointment during regular hours of operation. The SKYPE laptop will be used in the designated area to minimize distractions and facilitate privacy.
Visitors who wish to use the SKYPE laptop must present a valid, government-issued photo ID that will be held at the Reference Desk until usage is completed.
Library staff will assist patrons with computer use if time permits.Share this with friends:
